If leaving house empty for potential buyers, what can I shut off or save money on by doing so??

Husband and I are planning on selling our home.. moving into my dear older sister’s house for the meantime to save up, fix up our credit, and save for a new house.. I heard its best to leave a house empty so that potential buyers can see actual amount of space. etc. (Besides we have ALOT of stuff) Anyway, moving out sooner, leaving it pretty much occupant free, what are some things I can shut off or skimp out on? Homeowners insurance>change coverage? Utilities?

You can find your breaker box and turn off the hot water switch; just tell the realtor you are doing this.
That way your hot water tank isn’t always kept hot —;;we always turned ours off half the day in college to save $$$$. ( Most people don’t realize it doesn’t need to run 24/7 anyway; once it is filled with hot water, it stays hot a good long time, and when you’ve showered, etc, turn the breaker switch back on several hours to reheat the new tank of water )
